Our high-content analysis services are supported by more than 10-year experience in the development of primary cell cultures. Directly isolated from fresh organs and grown in vitro, primary cell cultures retain most in vivo features, such as endogenous protein expression levels. Those highly predictive in vitro models are therefore used at Fluofarma to accurately determine the pharmacological profile of lead compounds: efficacy, toxicity and mechanism(s) of action.
> High-reproducibility: isolations are extensively characterized to ensure uniform experimental conditions
> Flexible cell culture configuration: monolayer, sandwich or 3D spheroid cultures
> High-throughput format
> Generation of in vitro disease models based on pharmacological treatment or genetic modification
Starting from our client's project, we develop fit for purpose organ-specific primary cell cultures from embryonic and newborn rodents. Here is an indicative list of the primary cultures already performed in microplate format:
PRIMARY NERVE CELL CULTURES | OTHER PRIMARY CELL CULTURES |
Primary cortical cell cultures Primary hippocampal cell cultures Primary hypothalamic cell cultures Primary mesencephalic cell cultures Primary striatal cell cultures Primary vomeronasal organ culture Primary spinalneuron cultures |
Primary hepatocytes Primary cardiomyocytes Anterior pituitary cell cultures |
Human umbilical vein endothelial (HUVEC) cells forming blood vessel-like tubes (in green). A segmentation mask (in red) enables the quantification of neo-vascular trees.
Fluofarma offers to source cryopreserved human primary cultures, obtained from certified sources, following strict ethical standards.
Different isolations are first characterized to determine the best donors and reduce variability between cultures.
