Target discovery

Target identification

Fluofarma collaborates with the US Company Genome Explorations for gene expression analysis and target identification through Affymetrix microarrays.

Target validation

Concerning target validation assays, Fluofarma also offers high-throughput functional target validation assays based on the use of siRNAs that inhibit the expression of a specific pharmaceutical target.

Example of target validation

Here, we assessed the role of 60 different human kinases in malignant pathologies by measuring apoptosis and cell proliferation in the presence of siRNAs which specifically target each kinase.

Functional Target Validation

This method allows the identification of compounds (in pink) whose inhibition results in cell apoptosis or the inhibition of cell proliferation.
